With the New Year and more free time now that I am out of college I decided to get back in the blog world! I've always been in and out but never really put too much effort or thought into it. For awhile now I have been talking to people about how much I want to start up a blog again but it was all talk. I decided to finally give it a shot and see where I get with it. In high school I followed 20-somethings and young moms and envied their lives of pretty houses and great vacations... as I posted silly high school things. Well, now I am 20-something and beginning my "adult" life, so why not start now?
So...
My name is Kaitlin and I currently live in Grand Rapids, MI. I work for a Travel Management company doing Corporate Travel... and no, I do not get free flights. I graduated from Grand Valley State University last spring with a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management. Luckily, I was able to land my job as I wrapped up school and began working two weeks after graduation.
While in school I had the opportunity to study abroad in Italy, which really sparked my love of travel. I had always enjoyed the yearly family vacation, but spending time immersed in another culture was the most incredible experience. Though I have a bit of saving to do, I hope to be planning the next big trip sooner rather than later!
I am originally from Novi, MI where I spent the first 18 years of my life. My parents have since moved to another nearby city and my two older siblings have grown up lives of their own. I have a brother that is 6 years older who recently got engaged (!!!) and will be getting married this upcoming fall (wait until you see how great the bridesmaids dresses are!). My sister is 4 years older and got her doctorate this past summer from University of St. Augustine in Florida.
And now for things you will most likely see me posting about... I love travel, yoga and wine. I sometimes try new recipes, though usually its safer for me not to. I like to spend time with friends and my boyfriend on the weekends. I want a dog. I do like to read, though I often end up watching Friends instead. In the summer I do a lot of DIY projects. I love finding steals at garage sales and really fixing things up. Really, I love finding any deal in general. I'm kind of a shopaholic. Oh and Christmas. I love Christmas.
